Why Bon Jovi Called Bon Jovi? History of Band Creation

The most popular and well-known rock band is placed a leading top the chart on many Billboards. Why this band is so popular and called Bon Jovi not David Bryan or Tico Torres? The history of its creation: Jon Bon Jovi the main leader of the band at the age of sixteen met David Bryan and formed the band Atlantic City Expressway. They played in New Jersey clubs even though they were insignificant. By 1980, he formed another band, “The Rest”, and opened up for New Jersey acts. In March 1983 David Bryan called an experienced drummer Tico Torres who studied music with Joe Morello. Before joining Bon Jovi he had already played live with Joe Cerisano in the New Jersey Rock circuit, and in the studio with Franke and the Knockouts, Chuck Berry, Cher, Alice Cooper and Stevie Nicks, recording of 26 albums with these artists. Bon Jovi’s neighbor Dave Sabo played on lead guitar but with the lapse of time Sabo replaced by Richie Sambora before joining the group, Sambora had toured with Joe Cocker, played with a group called Mercy… The name: Jon Bon Jovi wanted a group name, but his friend advised him to call the group Bon Jovi, following the example of the other famous bands such as Van Halen, boys agreed and two years later they hit the charts under that name.
